HIGH NOTES CAN BE A BITCH
High Notes. Either they’re a mark of accomplishment (“I can hit an A above high C, soooo…I am awesome.”), or they’re the bane of your existence as a singer. I’ve met singers who eliminate songs entirely from their rep because they contain a particular high note – like the note is a curse that must not be tread upon. Of course, on the other end of that spectrum, there are singers like me that go all Barney Stinson on those songs and cry, “Challenge Accepted!!” and charge into high notes like battle.
In today’s video, we’re going to tackle high notes: what it takes to actually sing them and not just hit them, and how to wrap your voice around that stratosphere of singing. Here is what I want to you to take away:
a) that you CAN do it, and
b) learning the skill behind doing it.
Then it’s up to you to practice it. Let’s demystify this all-too-powerful beast together. It may not be pretty, but battle never is. So buckle up, this could be a bumpy ride.
