THE MYTH OF EXPANDING RANGE
It’s time to debunk another myth: Range. I hear so many singers say they want to learn how to expand their vocal range, and I see teachers misleading singers with empty promises like, “add an octave to your range!” Guess what?
You can’t do it. No one can.
Even shows like The Voice and American Idol spread this myth by saying things like, “I can’t believe the range on that girl!” Meanwhile, I’m shouting at my television like a crazy person, “STOP THAT!” I should really change the channel.
Singers do buy into the malarkey of expanding their range when they say, “Oh, I can’t sing that high –I don’t have that note in my range”. Or, “I’m an alto”. It’s all bunk.
But that doesn’t mean it’s hopeless. You probably CAN hit those notes. You just don’t know it yet.
So in today’s video, I’m going to dispel this myth about range which will include some really AWESOME news for you. No gimmicks, no hoaxes here. Ready? Let’s go.
