The Fastest Way to Break My Heart
First of all, if you’re on here LOOKING for the fastest way to my heart, we should maybe talk and figure out what’s up with that. Just sayin’.
When I heard one of my favorite singers, Ann Wilson of Heart, canceled a whole bunch of concerts on her tour because she lost her voice, I CRIED.
When I heard Adele had to cancel her entire US Tour because of a hemorrhaging vocal cord in 2011, I CRIED.
When I heard Alicia Keys struggle to get through the back half of her second song of many during a live performance, I CRIED.
***LET ME BE CLEAR: I didn’t have tickets to these concerts; I wasn’t sad that I was going to miss out on their performances. I cried because I ached to be able to help them so they wouldn’t have to experience this painful, demoralizing stressor which I was all too familiar with. I cried because I longed to help them so they wouldn’t have to break the hearts of their fans. I cried because I know how to prevent this from ever happening but didn’t know how to get to them so I could help them.
I STILL WANT TO HELP THEM. I also want to help you. I don’t enjoy the heartbreak, especially when it’s so preventable!
